In this twelve-week course, students will learn the basics of visual communication. Classes will focus on the art of storytelling in the visual media: Still photography, video production and video editing. After developing aesthetic sensibility and eye for good pictures, students will focus on video camera work and video editing. Taught by leaders in the fields of photography, broadcast journalism and documentary making, the course will end with students producing a short-length video.

In this class youl will learn to :

• Develop an “eye” for taking appealing pictures and shooting video footage
• Edit photographs and video footage that your viewers will remember
• Arrange visual images that will have high impact on your audience
• Develop your story-telling capacity through combining words with visuals

Class intended for :

Those individuals who are interested in a broadcast career or for those who are already working in print or online and are interested gaining fundamental skills in photography and video; individuals interested in further developing their creative abilities.
